Historical Review.
During
the pre-Inca time, occured the development of the Tiwanacu culture,
maximum expression of the aymara¥s culture,
who left impressive cities like Tiwanacu, the political capital
and Sillustani, the religius capital of the empire.
The
Spaniards tried to conquer this region finding serious difficulties
made the
Viceroy Count of Lemos to travel to pacify this region,
establishing Puno in November 04 1668.
The
jesuits constructed beautiful churches like those of Juli and Pomata, being
from these places
where they initialized Jesuits missions to the Paraguay and Bolivia.
Now this is an agricultural region and cattleman, with breeding of
auquenidos
of those they works their wool.
