UYUNI 4 DAYS/ 3 NIGHT (Cod-ILT-4U)

Salt Flat

The marvels of the South Lípez in a 4-day jeep expedition. A trip with complete autonomy. The altiplano offers in this region some of the most disconcerting landscapes in South America : the great Uyuni Salt Flats, the multicolored lagoons, geysers and volcanoes.
A circuit for the lovers of open spaces...

FIRST DAY

UYUNI - SALT FLATS - SAN JUAN In the morning, departure to the Uyuni Salt Flats; the biggest in the world. Along the road, visit to the salt mines of Colchani and the salt hotels. We make a stop in the heart of the Salt Flats, the Incahuasi Island. This place, covered by estromalitos of volcanic origin, is also known as the Isla del Pescado (Fish Island) In the afternoon, we will continue our trip to the village of San Juan.

Cold lunch. Night in the house of a villager (Possibility of a hot shower but, in general, limited comfort) All included.

Flamingo

SECOND DAY

SAN JUAN - LAGUNA COLORADA We will leave San Juan in the morning and cross the Chiguana Salt Flats. From 3600 meters, the road ascends to approximately 4200 m.a.s.l. Skirting the Chilean border, we will pass by the foot of two important volcanos: Tomasamil (5900 m.a.s.l.) and Ollagüe (still active). Later on, we will descend to the south along the so-called "Route of Jewels": lagoons Cañapa, Hedionda, Honda y Ch'arkota, sanctuaries of 3 varieties of flamingos. The path continues through the magnificent landscapes of the Siloli desert before arriving to Laguna Colorada (the colored lagoon) in the afternoon.

Cold lunch. Night in a shelter (limited comfort). All included.

Licancabur

THIRD DAY

LAGUNA COLORADA - LAGUNA VERDE - ALOTA Departure at 6:30 to the geyser Sol de Mañana (4850 m.a.s.l.), a volcanic crater with gushes of vapors of sulfur and mineral waters. Later on, we skirt the Salted Lagoon before crossing Dali's desert (called this because of the landscapes that remind us of one of the master's paintings). During the morning, we will arrive to Laguna Verde (at the foot of Licancabur volcano - 5900 m.a.s.l.) in order to watch its color change. Return to Laguna Colorada and, later on, trip to the community of Alota. Along the road, visit to the Rocks Valley (strange formations of volcanic eruptions)

Cold lunch. Night in the house of a villager in Alota (limited comfort) All included.

Cementery of Trains

FOURT DAY

ALOTA - UYUNI In the morning, departure to Uyuni. Visit to Río Grande, an area populated by vicuñas and ñandus (members of the ostrich family). Arrival to Uyuni at the beginning of the afternoon. If the schedule allows us, visit to the "Train Cemetery", on the outskirts of the village.
