The Condor’s head is part of the Condoriri mass. This mass located in the heart of the Royal Mountain Range has the particularity of having a single base camp for the twenty summits that constitute it. It is for that reason that this summit is usually reached at the same time with others.
We describe only known ascensions of this little mass. If some other ascension interests you, please, contact us.
The Condor’s head mountain takes that name because when one observes it next to the two neighboring summits – that of the left and that of the right – one has the impression of looking at a condor with opened wings.
Kühn climbed the Condor’s head for the first time in 1940.
In order to complete this ascension it is necessary to master a good technique using crampons and ice axe.
