Chearoco is a big peak which looks a lot more impressive close up than from the altiplano, from where it is partly obscured by fore peaks.
It can be accessed from the west and east, with the western approach via the Kelluani valley being quickest. This approach has been avoided for years due to reports of foreigners having difficulties with the locals but is now safe.

ENGLISH GUIDE OPTION
If you wish to hire an English speaking guide there is an additional cost – please see below. An English speaking guide is not always available and in case we can not confirm it, we will obviously refund the extra cost you paid. The longer the notice you give us, the more likely we will be able to confirm the English speaking guide. If you do not want to go on the hike unless you have an English speaking guide, you must inform us in the Additional Details section, otherwise, if it is not available, we will continue to confirm the tour with a Spanish speaking guide. The price is per person.
The hike requires a minimum of 2 people to get out. If you are only one person and wish to book, you can make your reservation by selecting 2 in the box amount and we will try to find more people for the chosen date – if we can not find more people we can cancel this reservation and reimburse you, or We can still confirm the tour If you agree to pay double.
This walk can only be canceled with a week (7 days) or more. It is not refundable after that. Please note that we can only process cancellations during office hours so please try to give us as much notice as possible to avoid disappointment (we recommend a week at least).
